Audio Editor 1.0.0

Free while the app is in its first release. No account, and nothing is uploaded.

This build is not yet signed by Apple

macOS will refuse to open it on the first try and say the app is damaged or from an unidentified developer. It is neither — the app has not been through Apple's notarisation yet. To open it: right-click the app → Open → Open. If macOS still refuses, run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Audio Editor.app" in Terminal once.

Source separation downloads its model once

The app itself is 13 MB and everything except separation works immediately. The first time you split a mix into vocals and backing, press Download beside the model in the separation dialog. That fetches 75 MB of MIT-licensed Spleeter weights, checks them against a checksum, and keeps them for next time.

What is left

The audio engine, effects and restoration are all cross-platform already. Plug-in editor windows are written against macOS APIs and need a Windows equivalent before a build is worth shipping.

What is left

Same as Windows — the engine builds, the plug-in editor window does not. Audio input and output go through ALSA and PulseAudio and still need testing on real hardware.
